Boswell Bank Catches Fire

1-15-07 A bank in Boswell, Oklahoma caught fire Sunday. Boswell volunteer fire officials say they received a call around 4:00 pm Sunday afternoon about a fire at the First Texoma National Bank. A fire marshal's initial reports say roof tar leaking over time contributed to an old lighting system short causing the blaze. Fire departments from Bokchito, Hugo, Grant, and Soper helped put out the fire.

Acting Fire Chief in Boswell, Larry Lankford, said "an agent from the state fire marshal’s office responded last night and came back this morning for an investigation. He was very pleased with the outcome of the fire and the fire investigation. He said it was an accidental fire cause by electrical problems."

Firefighters had the blaze under control by 6:00 pm; there were no injuries.
