11-25-03 - Tourism is the third largest industry in the entire state of Texas, and today Sherman was looking to combine forces with area communities. It was part of the first ever tourism roundtable. Tourism directors from Bonham, Gainesville, Denison, McKinney, Whitesboro, and Lake Texoma spent hours brainstorming ways to increase tourism. One of the ideas was to advertise for one another. Today's meeting gave tourism directors a chance to share ideas but no formal alliances were made. Event organizers hope to hold similar events twice a year.
