1-19-07 A Texas group is backing the construction of 19 proposed coal burning power plants across the state. The Texas Association of Business's plan is called "Don't Leave Texas in the Dark." It supports the proposed plants and says that Texas could see energy reduction as early as 2008. Officials with TAB say electric generators will not be able to keep up with the high demands from a growing economy and population. Tom Hammond, president of TAB, says that the state will see a population increase of 6-million by the year 2015.
