LAMAR CO., TX -- Details just being released Friday night about an officer involved shooting in Lamar County Wednesday.
A spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety says it happened Wednesday night, north of Paris near Pat Mayse Lake.
DPS tells us that a state trooper, along with a Lamar County Sheriff's Deputy, responded to a suicidal suspect call around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
According to reports, when the officers arrived at a residence near the lake they found 57-year-old George Martin Rosson, armed and sitting inside a vehicle in the driveway.
The spokesperson says Rosson fired a round into the air and then aimed his weapon at the trooper.
At this point authorities tell us the trooper shot Rosson, who was transported to Paris Regional Medical center, then to Parkland in Dallas where he was pronounced dead Thursday morning.
Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting, the name of the officer is not being released at this time.
