DENISON, TX -- 22-year-old Lance Corporal James D. Argentine of Farmingdale, NY, was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan Thursday. Argentine reportedly had ties to Texoma.

This is a high school photo sent by family friend Marilyn Walters.

Walters says Argentine spent summers with his grandparents Don and Jane Doyle, who were longtime Denison residents.

The Doyles have since passed away.

Argentine joined the marines in 2006, and this was his second tour of duty in Afghanistan.
