ECU currently operating without telephone system
ADA, OK -- An electronic circuitry failure shut down the telephone system early Monday at East Central University in Ada. Until the problem can be corrected, several departmental fax lines have been converted and cell phones have been purchased for temporary use as regular telephone lines.

ADA, OK -- An electronic circuitry failure shut down the telephone system early Monday at East Central University in Ada. Until the problem can be corrected, several departmental fax lines have been converted and cell phones have been purchased for temporary use as regular telephone lines.
All other campus telephones cannot make or receive calls.
“We very much regret this problem, especially if anyone has a last-minute question before the semester starts next Monday [AUG. 17],” said President John Hargrave. “We’re working to resolve the problem as quickly as we can.”
The list of temporary numbers, all with a 580 area code, includes: ECU Switchboard, 399-9235; ECU Police (emergencies only), 332-3875; ECU Computer Help Desk, 399-9236; Academic Advising Center, 399-8136; Admissions and Records, 399-8041; Athletic Department, 332-8361; Bursar, 332-3790; and Continuing Education, 310-9007; and Child Development Center/ Wellness Center, 310-9007.
Also, Distance Education, 332-5614; Education Department, 332-7114; Education Dean’s Office, 436-4024; Financial Aid, 436-5612; Graduate School, 310-9007; Housing, 399-9242; Liberal Arts & Social Sciences, 436-3329; Library, 332-5614; Presidents Office, 332-1623; Communications & Marketing, 332-4036; School of Business, 421-9801; Student Development, 399-8051.
