01-24-07 A Byng High School student was arrested Tuesday for bringing a stolen BB gun to school. Students at the school saw the 16-year-old with the gun Tuesday morning and told the principal, authorities said.
It turns out the gun was stolen from an Ada Wal-Mart. The student was immediately sent to in-school suspension.
The incident raised red flags because of the arson fire at the school two weeks ago. In response, the undersheriff and fire marshall were on hand to arrest the student.
They say they have no evidence to suggest the two cases are related. The student is in juvenile detention center and will be suspended from school for one year.
