Stadium Seating Theatre Draws Crowd to Sherman

12-16-03 - Movie-goers lined up by the dozens Tuesday night for a glimpse inside Grayson County's biggest and best theatre.

Cinemark Town Center promises to give Texomans something they've never had close by. The 12 screen theatre offers stadium seating along with digital audio.

Cinemark is based in Plano and celebrates its 20th anniversary next year. The theatre giant says Sherman has always been one of its best performing markets. They will shut down the Cinemark 5 at Midway Mall but will turn the Cinemark 7 on Texoma Parkway into a discount theatre.

The complex opens to the public Wednesday, but an invitation-only crowd got to see a special screening of movies Tuesday night. Several hundred lined up in the cold weather outside.
