01-30-07 A Madill man who wants to put the future of the Department of Corrections Work Center in the hands of voters, says he is halfway there.
Lloyd Eppler began collecting signatures for a petition earlier this month. He needed 69, and got 147.
The Madill Council gave the DOC the go ahead to build a new 100 bed inmate work center in town. But some residents want that decision to be left up to them.
The City Clerk is reviewing the petition, if it's approved, the issue could be on the April ballot.
