01-31-07 A national celebrity visited some Van Alstyne students Wednesday afternoon. Ronald McDonald spread the word about being fit and finding fun ways to get exercise.
The McDonalds' clown visited Van Alstyne Elementary to promote the Go Active program. Students were all smiles as Ronald showed them to use their imaginations to pretend they're riding a bike.
The kids also made up dance moves in Ronald's presentation.
"Just having fun!" said Ronald McDonald himself. "Especially nowadays with the weather not being able to go outside and play. I figure I bring the fun to them."
Go Active is a nationwide program designed to encourage fitness in children.
