Homicide investigation underway in Atoka Co.
ATOKA COUNTY, OK – Atoka County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are investigating a homicide, after events Saturday night left a 55-year-old Calera man dead.

ATOKA COUNTY, OK – Atoka County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are investigating a homicide, after events Saturday night left a 55-year-old Calera man dead.

By the time the Atoka County Deputies were told about an assault on Folsom Road Thursday night, the victim had already been taken out of Oklahoma.

"I was told that there had been a vehicular assault on Folsom road and that the victim had been taken to TMC by private vehicle," said Deputy Brandon Gerard, who investigating the death of 55-year-old Elton Leonard Webb of Calera.

Webb was taken to Texoma Medical Center in Denison after he was run over by a vehicle. He was then flown to Parkland Hospital in Dallas where he died on Saturday.

Deputies believe Webb was struck intentionally and they believe they know who hit him.

"We do have a suspect," said Gerard.

While the name of the suspect is not being released investigators do expect to bring charges against the suspect in the near future.

"As of now, myself and OSBI are interviewing witnesses," said Gerard.
