Accused Kidnapper Arrested

12-19-03 - The man accused in the Wednesday kidnapping attempt of a Piner Middle School student was arrested Friday night in Allen, Texas.

Sherman police are charging 21-year-old Joshua Karr with attempted aggravated kidnapping. They issued the warrant around four o'clock this afternoon. It comes after two cases this week where a man in a red car either invited children to get inside, or in the Sherman case, tried to force a child inside.

The first case happened in Tom Bean on Monday, but three children ran when the man waved them inside. Sherman officers actually questioned Karr in that case, but didn’t have enough evidence at the time.

Since then, children from both cases have identified the man as Karr. He does have a prior criminal record with one arrest in January for minor in consumption.
