High Speed Chase Ends in Crash

12-22-03 - An man paroled from prison is now accused of leading state troopers in Texas and Oklahoma on a high speed chase along I-35 today.

They say he ran several cars off the road, before being forced into a crash by a trooper. Twenty-eight-year-old Dale Eugene Gray Junior is accused of starting the chase just south of the Red River.

Gray, an ex-con out on parole for drug charges, was pulled over for a routine stop by Texas DPS when he took off at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour.

As OHP and Love County deputies joined in the chase, Gray cut across the median and headed southbound, purposely ramming into other cars and running them off the roadway.

The chase finally came to an end when Gray attempted to ram an Oklahoma trooper and lost control of his own vehicle in the process, rolling his truck into the median. As it turns out, Gray was driving a stolen vehicle.
