ARDMORE, OK-- Ardmore City Commissioners are set in special session next week to consider the employment of city manager Dan Parrott. The agenda released is the latest in a round of developments in the city.
Former Ardmore Police Chief John Beene is heading a petition circulation calling for Parrott's dismissal. Beene says he believes Parrott is to blame for the problems within the police department.
Beene says it's time for change, and the recent turmoil is embarrassing.
"It's circulated all around southern Oklahoma and north Texas, and it's unbelievable the way people would view Ardmore. This is a great town," Beene says.
Parrott has refused to comment on the petition drive and the special meeting. Commissioners will convene behind closed doors on Wednesday at noon.
