Ada Business Closing - 440 jobs lost

1-6-04 - The city of Ada is losing one of its largest employers. Sykes Enterprises announced Tuesday that it will close in March. In a written statement, Sykes officials say "In response to clients needs and changing market conditions Sykes is consolidating locations. This will result in the closure of the Ada Sykes." Sykes serves as a customer support business for Fortune 1000 companies and operates 42 customer support centers worldwide. The Ada location employs 440 people. Their last day of operation will be March 8th.

Southeastern Spring Commencement set for May 11
