A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until 7 a.m. for the northernmost portions of Texoma including Atoka, Coal, Johnston, Murray and Pontotoc Counties Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Rain ends NW to SE during the day Thursday.
As of Saturday night, running water has been restored to the city of Hugo, but the fire department said residents still have to be careful when using their water.
Firefighters said residents can use the running water for showers and for cleaning purposes, but it's not safe to drink. Firefighters are recommending residents boil water before drinking, or using for cooking.
The army national guard is still helping the Hugo Fire Department deliver water to area hospitals and nursing homes. The city had been without water since Thursday morning, when an indicator malfunctioned at the city's water plant.
