Homeowners in Murray County are concerned their land could become part of the city of Sulphur. Earlier this year city council members suggesting annexing a two-square-mile area north of town.
Sixty to seventy landowners in the area heard about the plan and are trying to stop the annexation through the services of an attorney.
They say they live in the country so they do not have follow city ordinances.
A spokesperson for the residents plans to voice those concerns at a city meeting Monday night, but Sulphur city officials say the issue is not on Monday's agenda.
