An overnight fire at the Greenspray Grocery Store kept firefighters in Durant busy early Tuesday morning. Crews are still trying to piece together exactly what happened. They were called out to the grocery store in the 500 block of North 1st Street just after 1:30 a.m. When they arrived the grocery store was engulfed in flames.
Now authorities are telling us the fire started in the back near the offices and the smoke traveled through the building.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze within half an hour, but there is extensive smoke damage to the front of the store. The fire did not seem to travel that far. Fire officials are still looking into what exactly started the fire.
The fire chief will be arriving later on Tuesday to investigate. No injuries were reported.
