Ardmore Auto Thefts

1/17/04-- A recent rash of car burglaries in Ardmore has folks on the north side of town on high alert.
In the last week, 11 cars have been burglarized; nine of those were on the northwest side of town.
Police say the burglaries could be connected because they're in the same area and thieves are stealing the same types of items.
Victims are reporting pioneer car stereos, CD's and speakers gone from their vehicles.
Investigators suspect the area has become a target because construction has forced cars off of a residential stree and onto a side street where they are not protected.
Police are still investigating, but say they'll step up patrol in the area until the construction is completed.
