1-19-04 - It’s a Cold Case that dates back 12 years in Grayson county. The murder of a 19 year old Denison teenager has baffled authorities for more than a decade, but new leads could thaw out this cold case. It started as a missing person’s case.
In February of 1992, Holly Bowling disappeared. Four months later, her body was found in an abandoned railroad bed east of Denison. 12 years later, her mother described Holly as a girl who loved music and sang in the choir at Denison high school. But authorities had few clues to work with in finding her killer.
The body was so badly decomposed that they have yet to determine how she died. But investigators believe there was only one other person at the murder scene and they're waiting for that person to slip up. But in the past few months there have been some new leads. But detectives won't give details for the sake of the investigation.
Investigators will say they only one person has been a suspect all along.
