Gas Being Restored After Line Cut

1-20-04 - Oklahoma Natural Gas crews should be finished restoring gas before midnight on Tuesday in Ardmore.

That's after a construction crew cut a line in a neighborhood. It happened at the intersection of Commanche and Cottonwood while a crew was working on a city street. It affected about 100 homes.

The Ardmore Fire Department and the Oklahoma Natural Gas Company had to find a metal box beneath the street that held the cut off valves before they could turn off the gas and fix the problem.

Crews spent the evening going from house to house to relight all the pilot lights. If residents aren't home when they stop by their gas may not be turned back on until tomorrow morning. However, ONG will leave a note on the door with further instructions on getting immediate help.
