1-25-04-- It was an unusual sight for security guards at the Gene Autry Air Park north of Ardmore Sunday afternoon.
They spotted a jeep in about three feet of water in the Washita River.
A Carter County dive team was called in and pulled the Jeep Cherokee out of the water about 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Investigators later discovered it had been reported stolen Saturday night out of Gainesville, Texas.
Ardmore police believe the vehicle was intentionally driven into the river, but do not have any suspects in the incident.
