Stray Bullet Barely Misses Toddler

2-2-04 - It was a close call for a Cooke County 2 year old last night in Callisburg, as a bullet ripped through his family’s home. The large caliber slug passed through a wall and the child’s high chair, where he’d been sitting moments before. Todd and Melissa Wright say it happened around sundown Tuesday at their mobile home. The shot apparently came from a field behind their home – likely from a high-powered rifle. Deputies are investigating that case and so far believe it was not intentional. But the Wright’s say all they want is an apology. It’s the 2nd shooting in the past week in that neighborhood. A sheep was shot and killed earlier in the week.
