02-08-04-- The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway office in Sherman went up in flames early Sunday morning. Fire officials say luckily, no one was injured, but they estimate the damage could be more than $300,000. Three engines responded to a 911 call from an employee around 6:00am. Several employees were working in the yard near the metal office building when it went up in flames. Burlington Northern ships rock from Texas to Oklahoma and says the trains will continue to run. They have set up an emergency command center and an 18 wheeler will serve as an office until repairs are completed, which company officials say could take up to three months. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, though fire officials say it was likely electrical.
