1245th Homecoming Delayed

03-01-04 - The long awaited homecoming of the 1245th National Guard Troop will have to wait a little longer.

Families of the soldiers thought their loved ones would be coming home today, flying into Fort Sill, but that didn't happen. National Guard officials say they never confirmed a March 1st homecoming date, but do say they will be released on March 8.

However, their release date is not the date they will come home. Due to the large amount of troop movement it may take some time before they will be able to fly home. National Guard officials expect to see them back on U.S. soil the third week of March.

The 1245th is a transportation battalion that has been stationed in Iraq for more than a year.
