Horse Owner Arrested - Volunteers Offer to Adopt

3-5-04 - A woman accused of starving dozens of horses was arrested Friday in Asher, Oklahoma.

Barbara Knight was stopped by a police officer just before 5pm, who then arrested her for an animal cruelty warrant. Knight is accused of not feeding 52 horses for at least three months. By this week, when authorities confiscated the animals, 24 of the animals had died.

After a First News story ran on Thursday, dozens of people called the Sheriff’s office offering to adopt the horses. If you'd like to help, contact the Murray County Sheriff's office at 580-622-5124.
