2-15-04 - Four inmates at the Gainesville State School used a snowy Valentines Day to escape. But within six hours, all of them were back in custody. The four, ages 18 to 20, climbed over an outer fence. School employees noticed they were gone around 7pm. But the snow actually helped authorities track them. Gainesville police and Cooke County deputies followed footprints in the snow to a nearby field. Two of the escapees were captured just 30 minutes after their escape. The other two were caught just after midnight. All four are from the Dallas area.
