Police Rescue Missing Girls After Night in Woods

2-17-04 - Two young Sherman girls are back with their families after spending a wet and cold night in a wooded area in southeast Sherman. Searchers found 7 year old Lydia Semidey and 9 year old Malary McCraw around 8:30 this morning, in a creek south of where they disappeared. They were last seen at McCraw's home in the 800 block of Holiday around 4pm Monday, near the municipal airport. Authorities say one of the girls got into some kind of trouble and both were sent to a bedroom. That's when they girls crawled out a window and left the home. Search parties scoured the area, but when rain moved in around 10:30pm, the search was called off a short time later. Watch First News at Noon for the latest information.
