ARDMORE- Police say an Ardmore woman is lucky to be alive this evening after she was stabbed numerous times by her boyfriend.

Police responded to a fight earlier in the night at a trailer park off Lake Murray Drive. Hours later, they were called back to the scene after things got out of hand.

Shawn Redden picked up a knife and stabbed his girlfriend several times.

She was rushed to the hospital in grave condition. Shorty thereafter Redden was booked into the county jail for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

This was not the first time police had responded to a disturbance at this address. They say Redden has faced charges for domestic violence before this incident.

Police say when they investigate cases of domestic violence, they talk to victims about their options for leaving situations like these. Many times they end up back in the same scenario, like this victim did.

Police expect the district attorney to file formal charges against Redden on Monday.
