Governor Brad Henry was overseas this week honoring our hometown heroes.
Henry met with troops from the 1-180th out of Durant who are providing mission security in Afghanistan. KXII photojournalist Todd Larkin is among the group.
The governor told troops he was very proud of their service and appreciates the job they’re doing overseas. He says, “For me to be able to look at each of our troops in the eye and shake their hands and personally thank them for their service, it’s very meaningful.”
The governor presented eleven Oklahoma soldiers with the Combat Infantry Badge for being engaged by the enemy. His next stop will be Germany, where he will tour an American military hospital.
