2-19-04 - Neighbors in Durant are complaining after a pit bull was released back to it’s owner, despite neighbors claims that the dog attacked their pets. The attacks happened on one night in January, when two pit bulls escaped from their yard. Three cats and one dog were killed. Both dogs were taken to the pound, but their owner claimed only one did the killing. He has since had that dog put to sleep, while the other dog is in a fenced yard. Still, neighbors say that isn’t enough. They feel both dogs should have been put down.
