Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, the same company that announced a buy out of TXU just weeks ago, announced today they are also purchasing Dollar General.
Kohlberg Kravis Roberts is making headlines across the country.
Dollar General made its mark locally years ago with the distribution center at the Ardmore Airpark, which employs about 750 people.
Today's announcement shows Kohlberg Kravis Roberts will buy Dollar General for $22 a share. The total value of the deal is put at $7.3 billion, including about $380 million in debt assumption.
The deal, which is subject to approval of its shareholders, is expected to close in the third quarter of this year.
Dollar General has more than 8,200 stores.
