Standoff Ends Without Incident In Durant

2-20-04 A Durant man gave up peacefully after holding police at bay Thursday night inside a partially destroyed building in downtown. The man, Troy Robison, is the owner of the condemned building. The standoff began Thursday night around nine o'clock, just hours after high winds knocked down an entire wall of the three story structure. City workers moved in to tear down the rest of the building and that's when the owner barricaded himself inside. Dozens of law enforcement and even family worked to try to convince the man to surrender. Finally around one a.m. Robison surrendered to police. No word yet if any charges will be filed against him. Just forty minutes after Robison surrendered the hotel was demolished.
