3-13-07 - Eric Babers capped off an incredible career by pouring in a game-high 27 points, but Southeastern Oklahoma State fell to top-seeded Central Missouri Mules Tuesday night by a 67-54 margin.
The Mules (30-3) advance to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight to be held next week in Springfield, Mass.
Southeastern Oklahoma State got off to another slow start, but was able to claw back to within 29-23 at the half and was within three points after Babers converted a three-point play with 12:44 to go.
The Mules ran off the next 10 points to expand the lead to 53-40 with 10:09 to play. The Savage Storm could get no closer than six the rest of the way.
Theo Jones hit four 3-pointers to finish with a team-high 20 points for Central Missouri, while Darryl Sommerset added 14 points and Zack Wright and Wadale Williams had 11 each.
Matt Whi te joined Babers in double figures with 14 points and five rebounds.
The Mules limited Southeastern to 1-of-13 shooting from 3-point range and out-rebounded the Savage Storm 36-24.
Southeastern finishes the season with a 27-5 record making an appearance in the South Central Regional championship in its first trip to the NCAA Division II tournament.
