MARSHALL COUNTY, OK -- A major highway in Marshall County was shut down for about 5 hours Monday, after a fiery collision between a semi and a car left a Denton, Texas woman dead.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a semi carrying feed was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 377 four miles north of Madill at 3 p.m. when a car headed northbound ran off the road, over corrected into the semi, and burst into flames.

The driver of that car, identified as 69-year-old Carol Wheeler-Liston, was killed. OHP tells us her body was "burnt beyond recognition".

Speed is not believed to have been an issue, but officials say inattention by Wheeler-Liston contributed to the crash.
