Atoka County Sheriff Sued

03-13-04-- Fifteen former female inmates have filed a joint civil lawsuit alleging they were sexually harassed while incarcerated in the Atoka County Jail.

The women are seeking more than $ 1million dollars in damages for violation of constitutional and statutory rights.

They name Atoka County Sheriff Gary McCool and two dispatchers as defendants in the lawsuit.

Some of the women claim the sheriff did not reply to complaints about the dispatchers' sexual advances.

The lawsuit was filed in U-S District Court in Muskogee last week.
