GCC Opening New Campus in Van Alstyne

2-23-04 - The drive to obtain a college degree will soon get shorter for people in southern Grayson county. In April, Grayson County College will open a south campus in Van Alstyne. The area is one of the fastest growing parts of north Texas, and college officials estimate between 500 to 1,000 students will enroll there for basic. Located just off US 75, the campus will offer almost all of the college's courses, with the exception of some high level math and science classes and drama courses. There are also plans to include workplace training and vocational nursing in the coming years. The $5.8 million building was paid for through the sale of bonds.
