Sunday Afternoon and Evening ... Scattered intense thunderstorms are expected, some severe. Large hail, high winds and the potential for isolated tornadoes will be the main threats. Locally heavy is rain also possible with these storms.
2-24-04 - Students at the Sadler-Southmayd Middle School will miss two days of class after an explosion knocked three holes in an interior wall of the cafeteria. The blast originated in the kitchen, possibly caused by a gas leak. No one was injured, but it did happen around 1pm, just 20 minutes after students had finished eating. Two of the holes in the wall were 4 feet by 4 feet. The school is located in Sadler, just off highway 82. TXU gas officials are still trying to determine the source of the leak. As of right now, classes have been cancelled for February 25th and 26th..
