SHERMAN- The search process for a new city manager in Sherman may be delayed. The Sherman City Council was scheduled to discuss the timeline for hiring a permanent city manager. After receiving advice from the city attorney, that discussion has been tabled for a later date.

Giles Brown has serves as acting city manager since February after Scott Wall resigned from his post. But Brown also accepted a position as vice president of business services at Grayson County College. Brown's last day with the city is tomorrow.

Mayor Bill Magers says George Olson will become the new acting city manager beginning Wednesday. Olson currently serves as director of community services and maintenance for the city and will continue working in that role as well.

Magers says he anticipates the search for a permanent city manager to take several months. There is also speculation city leaders may wait until after the May elections to hire a permanent city manager once a new council is in place.
