3-22-04 - Law enforcement officers are still looking for a man who led them on a high-speed chase in Atoka County on Monday. It started in Tushka around 11:30am when an Oklahoma Highway Patrol officer tried to pull over a red 1991 Toyota Coupe. The man wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, but refused to pull over. He led officers on a 20-mile chase, at times reaching speeds of 110 miles an hour along seven different county roads. Authorities used a road block and spikes to stop the suspect’s car, but he then took off on foot into a wooded and rural area. Despite using an airplane and dogs, authorities weren’t able to locate the man. But they do know who he is, and will issue an arrest warrant soon.
