(Vatican City-AP) -- Pope John Paul is keeping up a Good Friday
tradition at the Vatican. The pope has heard confessions from eleven Catholics of various ethnic backgrounds. Aides wheeled the 83-year-old pontiff into a mahogany confessional booth near the main altar of St. Peter's Basilica. He's also been leading an afternoon service marking the crucifixion of Christ. John Paul used to carry a wooden cross during an evening procession symbolizing Christ's path to being crucified. But he stopped three years ago because of health problems. Instead, he'll deliver a blessing at the end of the procession. The pope will also preside over an Easter vigil Mass tomorrow, and celebrate an Easter Sunday Mass.
