Murder Suspect Identified

03-28-04- Sherman police have identified the man they believe killed a 20-year-old mother and her two children inside their apartment early Saturday morning.

Police say 21 year old Andre Lee Thomas walked in to the Sherman police Department Saturday morning around 9:30 a.m with self-inflicted stab wounds.

Investigators believe Andre Thomas used a knife to stab Laura Thomas, her one year old daughter Leyha, and four year old son Andre to death. Andre is the son of the suspect.

Friends and family say Andre and Laura were married but have been separated for some time.

Thomas remains at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center Sunday in stable condition. Though he has not been formally charged, he is being heavily guarded.

Police say he will be charged with three counts of capital murder when he is released from the hospital.
