04-10-04- An Ardmore teenager was killed Saturday afternoon in a head-on collision in Carter County. The 18 year old died at the scene of the accident, and three other people were taken to area hospitals with injuries ranging from serious to minor.
It happened around 4:30 Saturday afternoon on Carter Road, a two-lane road in rural Carter County. Troopers believe a small gray car was probably traveling too fast when it crossed the center line and struck a red pick-up truck head on.
The teenage driver was killed instantly. His two female passengers and the female driver of pick-up were all atken to area hospitals.
Troopers won't specify a cause of the accident, but say speed was a factor.
