The Carter County Drug Task Force is disbanded.
The decision came early this week and officials blame lack of funding.
There were only three investigators working for the task force, two of them Ardmore police officers who have since returned to working narcotics.
District Attorney Craig Ladd says in order for the task force to operate efficiently, they need sufficient supervision, and that will take more money.
"In order for me to properly supervise this type of investigation I would have to hire another investigator that did nothing but supervise the drug task force and I just don’t have the means or money to do that,” Ladd said.
Carter County is one of many Oklahoma counties eliminating their drug task forces.
