04-13-04 - Thousands will be hitting a new highway connecting Sherman to Bells. Highway 82 is complete and open to travel after three years of construction.
The 8 mile stretch is a 13 million dollar project. Today representatives and city officials gathered along the highway for the ribbon cutting ceremony. Officials estimate that six to seven thousand motorists will travel the new stretch of highway a day. The new highway will keep large trucks and cars from traveling the curvy roads through several small towns.
