4-16-04 - The annual Lakefest Regatta is in full sail this weekend, raising thousands of dollars for local charities.
This year they expect 78 sailboats to take part in the races. In it’s 18th year, they’re hoping to raise more than $100,000. Last year they raised more than $70,000.
The Regatta runs out of the Grandpappy Point marina, and features activities during the day and night. On Saturday, participants can watch the races, and by that evening they can attend a benefit dinner at 7pm and take part in a dance and charity auction.
