McKinney Murders - Three Men Arrested

(McKinney-AP) -- Three men are charged with capital murder in the shooting deaths of four people in McKinney. Police charged 22 year old Jecory May and 33 year old James Jones, both of McKinney and 28 year old Calvin Walker of Dallas.

Each was charged yesterday with four counts of capital murder and is being held on four million dollars bond. They allegedly shot Rosa Barbosa, her nephew, Mark, and two family friends, Austin York and Matthew Self at Rosa Barbosa's home on March 12th. Self died at a hospital the next day -- the other three died at the scene.

Eighteen year old York and 17 year old Self were high school football players in McKinney. Police say they were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Police Chief Doug Kowalski says Rosa Barbosa was the initial target of the shooting. Her employer -- Cliff's Check Cashing -- was the secondary target.

The Dallas Morning News reports that police say a tip from confidential informant led to the arrests.
