ARDMORE -- Michael Summers, the mayor of Davis, Oklahoma, plead guilty Monday morning to charges of obtaining money by false pretenses.

The 33-year old entered a blind plea in a Carter County courtroom.

The district attorney says after negotiating a plea deal, both sides could not reach an agreement on a sentence. That decision was left up to the judge.

Ardmore police say Summers manipulated the return process while working at Staples by crediting his personal account with almost $4,000 dollars.

District attorney Craig Ladd says Summers will sentenced May 31.

The Davis city manager says Summers turned in a letter of resignation on Friday.

Vice Mayor Darryl McCurtain will serve as interim mayor until the council elects new officers.

Maybe she's just like him!!! GROSS!!! Help them, oh Lord!

I've known Michael almost all of his life and will tell you that there isn't a person on here who could change what I think of him. I wish more of those supposed "honest" people had his integrity!

I've shopped with Staples only because of Michael. I know that the store is in poor shape and the employees are not happy. I hope Staples is happy that they've ruined so much for $3000.

Isn't it funny how a liar always knows another liar. As its been said before, It takes one to know one. That says it all.

"blind plea"; that statement says it all. It is nice to have people believe in you, but people wake up and read the obvious. A man does NOT admit to guilt if he is innocent.

Michael has always been a servant leader. I've called him many times on city issues and he's always gotten them resolved and never asked for anything in return. I pray that this will not keep him out of city leadership forever.

He has always been a liar since he was a kid and anyone who thinks that this is the first time he has done this is just stupid.
