ARDMORE -- Michael Summers, the mayor of Davis, Oklahoma, plead guilty Monday morning to charges of obtaining money by false pretenses.
The 33-year old entered a blind plea in a Carter County courtroom.
The district attorney says after negotiating a plea deal, both sides could not reach an agreement on a sentence. That decision was left up to the judge.
Ardmore police say Summers manipulated the return process while working at Staples by crediting his personal account with almost $4,000 dollars.
District attorney Craig Ladd says Summers will sentenced May 31.
The Davis city manager says Summers turned in a letter of resignation on Friday.
Vice Mayor Darryl McCurtain will serve as interim mayor until the council elects new officers.
