SHERMAN -- The second annual Battle of the Badges blood drive kicks off Tuesday at 7 a.m. as the Sherman Fire Department takes on the Police Department.
The fun and "friendly" competition is to see which department can bring in the most blood donors to help stock the shelves at the regional blood center.
Those who come out and donate can sign up for door prizes and enjoy food and drinks.
We talked with the chiefs of both departments this morning about the competition on First News AM.
"Under Chief Jones leadership, I believe they're going to give us a run for our money," said Police Chief Tom Watts.
Fire Chief Jeff Jones echoed those sentiments.
“He better bring it on this year."
