SHERMAN, TX -- A local teenager got the gift of his dreams Wednesday, thanks to a local organization that grants wishes to Texoma kids, and a Dallas company that builds specialized wheelchairs.

Michael McCraw is a 17-year-old from Ravia, Oklahoma.

He's confined to a wheelchair due to a debilitating muscle disease--Friedreich's Ataxia.

Michael loves to be outside, but family outings around Lake Texoma had become frustrating because his wheelchair would get stuck in the sand, and hunting trips were limited because normal wheelchairs don't operate well in the woods.

So Michael and his family began dreaming about an all-terrain chair, and Wednesday his wish came true.

This unique chair was provided by the Wishing Well and United Rehab Specialist of Dallas, the company that helped create it.

The company custom fitted and will train Michael to use his new chair.
